Mount Hollydays, Inc. held a "Buck Bag" day to benefit the Mount Holly Community Relief Organization, on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 8 am until noon. Five major intersections in town were covered by 23 volunteers, 5 firemen/women and 1 police office. A total of $4, 347.67 was raised to help the needs of our charity organization. The CRO was flooded with 5 feet of water on August 5, 2011 when Mount Holly received 7 1/2 inches of rain in less than 2 hours. They lost everything they had in the building and the structure has been designated at structurally unsafe at the time time. People can make debit or credit card donations on our website, www.mounthollydays.org. Click on the CRO and then click on donate now to make your donation. The picture shows Carol Featherstone, president with board members Phyllis McConnell, Mac McConnell, Carol Rozendal, Todd Young, Lanny Ray and Lancy Rhyne presenting the check to Jason Bryant, Board Chairman of the CRO, Peggy Putnam and Kathy Flowers. Thanks to all that made donations and those that will continue to support this organization and all the good work they do for the needy in our area.
